Taking It Easy

After yesterday's mammoth undertaking, I've decided I should take it easy tonight. I'm not entirely sure what I want to say - my thoughts are a flurry of birds refusing to perch on something solid.
Today I was offered the opportunity to go work in HR for a period of time, training the new employees 3 days a week. It's all chatter for the moment, as my contracted hours may not allow for any additional hours (or there may not be anyone to replace me in the office if I am to go upstairs to regional). I'm flattered nevertheless - it's nice to be considered for something important like that, even if it doesn't pan out. Plus, it'd look fantastic on my CV. We'll see how it goes.
My manager requested I go out into the complex today and ask various shop owners and managers if they wanted to donate to our trivia night (a charity event we're hosting to raise money for Hummingbird House). It was actually kind of fun, which surprised me. I tried hard not to be intimidating or pushy, and decided I'd make it as friendly a venture as I could manage. Isn't it silly how sometimes, when pushed out of your comfort zone, you find yourself at ease with the situation? Hopefully it's a good night. My costume is definitely "something else" (thanks mum for that!).
I have lots of other things I'd like to blog about at some stage, but not tonight. My mind needs rest, and I think it deserves it.
