I promise I'm not skipping days with the intention of never blogging again!

For the first time in what feels like a million years, I am chomping at the bit to write again. It's a mighty refreshing feeling that I'm not ready to let go of (nope, not even a little bit).

Today, to stir things up I'm going to list my favourite tunes of 2016.

10. "You Don't Know Love" by Olly Murs

An unexpected addition to my list, particularly as Olly Murs usually irritates me to no end. But this song is part of the a-typical pop genre and incredibly easy to listen to.

9. "Wild Horses" by Birdy

Oh Birdy <3 This girl captured me the second I heard "Skinny Love." I've missed her compilations, and the song is a wistful realisation that this girl is growing up.

8. "The Sound of Silence" cover by Disturbed

I don't understand what's particularly magical about this song, but I'm obsessed with it. It could be the rich tenor, or the explosive vocals - I can't place it, but it's GOOD.

7. "World of Our Love" by Client Liaison

Ah yes, this song perfectly captures my bizarre fascination with the electronic genre. I don't enjoy these songs for the lyrics; nope, it's the beat that keeps me invested.

6. "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" by Adele

Not your typical Adele song, although I think that's why I enjoy it. Lilting, up-beat, a little snarky - plus, who can go wrong with Adele, really?

5. "Something in the Way You Move," "Army" & "On My Mind" by Ellie Goulding

I'm kind of cheating here... but I have a reason. Ellie is my absolute favourite artist. I've seen her in concert and she's that brilliant, I'd turn lesbian for her (JK... well.. heh). However, her newest album Delirium was such a disappointment for me. These 3 songs together make up one of her past songs, so that's why I've listed them. She's still fabulous, even with a so-so release.

4. "Sweet Lovin'" by Sigala

The lyrics may be basic and repetitive, but gosh it's catchy. This song is bound to get you dancing.

3. "Heathens" by Twenty One Pilots

Okay, this song will stick in your head after the first listen (annoying? A little, yes). BUT it's on the soundtrack for Suicide Squad, so I'm telling you - you need it in your playlist. It's bad-ass. Side note: SO EXCITED FOR THE FILM.

2. "This is What You Came For" by Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna

I realise I'm much of a cliche when it comes to Top Ten (if you know music then you'll sense where I'm getting these songs from), however I can't go past a solid dance track, especially when it's by Calvin Harris.

1. "Can't Stop the Feeling" by JT

Yep, I'm that mainstream. I think I love this song purely based on the fact that it makes me smile. Oh, who am I kidding? It's because it's Justin Timberlake, and I adore him.
